We know that mentorship is not a one-size-fits-all experience, which is why our 1-year, dedicated RISE Mentorship Program is designed to adapt and support you during your transition from vet school into practice. Throughout the year, you’ll receive hands-on training, personalized guidance, and ongoing support within a mentorship-focused hospital environment, helping you build confidence as you move from classroom to clinic.

When will I join as a RISE doctor?

We are flexible and will work with you one-on-one to find a start date that is best for you! Whether you start immediately after graduation, or you want to take some time off to recharge, we will work to accommodate you.

The choice is yours! We have locations nationwide, and the best part is you tell us what location you prefer and we will work out the rest. There are no surprises or locations that you will be placed at that you are unaware of- everything is agreed upon from the start. View Current Opportunities

We hope you will continue your professional career with us! You will have the opportunity to stay with that hospital, or choose to relocate to another PetVet Care Centers location if that is preferred.

What is the RISE Mentorship Program?

The RISE program was created by PetVet Care Centers to offer guidance and support through mentorship to recent graduates like yourself as you take the next step in your veterinary career.

RISE is designed to help new DVM grads like you transition from academia to clinical practice.

You will be paired with an experienced mentor and will move through the program with a nationwide cohort, providing an added layer of peer mentorship and the foundation for a professional network.

You're guaranteed to receive hands-on training, one-on-one guidance, and access to a network of recent graduates to lean on for support, friendship, and connection.

How is RISE different from other programs?

PetVet’s RISE Mentorship Program is a 1-year, dedicated mentorship experience designed by experienced DVMs to support new DVMs as they transition from classroom to clinic. We’ve been in your shoes—and we’re here to provide the guidance, support, and confidence you need to succeed.

One-on-One Mentorship

RISE is a unique opportunity where you'll be matched with an experienced mentor at your hospital. Your mentor will dedicate time to support you and your career goals, while striving to help you become confident and independent as a professional.

New Grad Retreat

Spend a weekend getting to know your fellow new grads in a centralized location. The retreat will be full of team-building activities and workshops. We want to help you build your network and support system, all while having fun.

Worry-Free Relocation

As a participant in the RISE Mentorship Program, PetVet Care Centers will provide a relocation package for you to relocate to your hospital.
